GMeals is a new pre-made, healthier foods concept in Louisville. Other similar concepts have sprung up in other cities with varying degrees of success, but GMeals is the first such concept to spring up in the Derby City that focuses on viral distribution. GMeals operates out of a central kitchen which packages fresh meals on a daily basis, and distributes them around the city to several convenient locations for customer pickup. While other companies focus on speed and price, GMeals aims to provide a delicious, fresh meal that is easy on the wallet.

With the vision of John Shaw-Woo, founding member, and the expertise of GMeals' culinary team, GMeals aims to be the leader of fresh tasting, affordable food in Louisville. In today's society, with our busy schedules, the time to prepare a healthy meal at home can be hard to come by. GMeals' philosophy is that nobody should ever be forced to choose the unhealthy option. Now they no longer have to.

While GMeals has only been opened since mid-January (2012), we are always looking for new ideas and locations to serve. If you have any questions, comments or concerns please feel free to e-mail us at: info@GMeals.com or Subscribe to our newsletter. We appreciate the continued support of our customers and look forward to serving you in the years to come.

Your meals are fresh, with no added preservatives and never frozen. Consume 4 days after purchase. Please do not over order. GMeals is a Kentucky Proud member that prides itself in buying local!.

    • Corporate catering

      ...GMEALS IS THE ANSWER!

With an increase in obesity throughout the United States, today corporations are seeking healthier meal alternatives for their employees as a way of improving the lives of their employees, and in doing so will result in a lowering of insurance premiums for the company over time. The following article details a fresh outlook on innovative employee healthy initiative programs for employers.

From Article: Making the "Body Corporate" Healthy Starts with Employees Elliot Clark, None

One of the most clearly defined areas of crossover between corporate responsibility and other departments of any big business is the intersection between corporate responsibility and human resources. Employee health and wellness should be at the core of any executive leadership agenda. I have spent considerable time in my career in the presence of the CEO's of major companies. When you ask them about what concerns them, talent is always near the top of their lists. Concern for talent needs to extend well past the recruitment and retention of competence to the availability to perform physically, emotionally and mentally. Some companies assume that the provision of a health plan is sufficient. After all, they have dial-up numbers to promote wellness, but do their plans have programs to foster involvement and prevention? Not all do, and some H.R. departments no longer have the resources to promote in-house programs, or never did. Some companies have on-site cafeterias that are managed by food service providers but do not seem to take an interest in the health quality of the menu choices offered to employees. I remember walking around the cafeteria of a large consulting firm looking for something healthy to eat (the salads were pre-packed and full of junk calories, too). I finally bought a PowerBar from a candy bar rack and left. By the way, we had just been talking to one of the practice leaders about Affordable Healthcare Act issues. A newsflash for their executive team: Reducing the amount of cholesterol laden food served in your enormous lunchroom will lower national health care costs faster than any Congressional mandate. I have sat through countless debates among industrial psychologists about whether employees who have higher "engagement scores are more "productive," and how to measure that. Here is another shocking but intuitively acceptable hypothesis: Employees who are alive and healthy are more productive. I believe that even with a small team of researchers this can be proven pretty easily. It is a given that corporate responsibility initiatives or human resources initiatives are complex and difficult to implement. Putting a gym in a major office center, monitoring the food served in the cafeteria, and building organized participation in community-based fitness programs such as the Fit- Friendly Campaign by AHA are not expensive or difficult to implement. They are a win for both C.R. and H.R., one that companies can put in place quickly to benefit their employees and their bottom lines. Sick workers make fewer widgets, and dead ones, well, they won't meet quota either.
GMeals is available to assist in improving the health of your employees, and in doing so should result in a lowering of insurance premiums for your company over time. If you are a corporation in need of a healthy employee meal program, please give GMeals a call

      ...GMEALS IS THE ANSWER!

GMeals' unique Green-bag school lunch delivery program makes it easy for students and parents to preorder fresh and nutritious lunches for daily school delivery! • Childcare Facility Program

      ...GMEALS IS THE ANSWER!

What Parents Should Know About the Benefits of the Child and Adult Care Food Program

The child care facility you have chosen may participate or be eligible to participate in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). The main goal of this program is to insure that children in participating child care centers and family child care homes receive healthful meals and snacks and child care providers receive training in nutrition. Children and providers learn about food and healthy eating. Nutrition is an important part of good child care and a healthy lifestyle. All children need well-planned meals and snacks that provide a variety of foods and the nutrients needed for good health and energy. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), through the New York State Department of Health, helps child care providers pay for meals and snacks that meet nutrition requirements for breakfast, lunch or supper, and snacks. A meal pattern outlines the kinds and amounts of food that must be served. Training and educational programs are also offered to child care providers that participate on the CACFP.

Child care facilities on this program:

Care about good nutrition for children Plan nutritious meals and snacks Help children learn and feel positive about food and eating

      You should also know that:

      1. Your child care provider may ask you to complete certain forms required by CACFP. 2. Special arrangements can be made for meals and snacks at child care for children with special nutrition needs. 3. To help manage the program better, you may be contacted at some time and asked about the type and quality of meals that your child receives while in care. 4. Your caregiver plans menus for meals and snacks and will be glad to show them to you.

Working together, you and your caregivers can help your child establish healthful food habits that will last a lifetime. You may receive other information from your caregiver that will suggest ways you can help your child learn about food and healthy eating. As a parent, you are the most important teacher your child will ever have. By practicing good health habits, including healthy eating, you can give your child a head start on a healthy lifestyle.

If you are a Daycare Facility in need of a Healthy meals program, please email us at Info@GMeals.com or call 502-966-3200. We are available to assist you 8AM-5PM Monday-Friday.

    • NEW Gmeals Cajun Restaurant

Cajun Cuisine (French: Cuisine Acadienne [kuizin akadjen]) is the style of cooking named for the French-speaking Acadian or "Cajun" immigrants deported by the British from Acadia in Canada to the Acadiana region of Louisiana, USA. It is what could be called a rustic cuisine - locally available ingredients predominate, and preparation is simple. An authentic Cajun meal is usually a three-pot affair, with one pot dedicated to the main dish, one dedicated to steamed rice, special made sausages, or some other seafood dish, and the third containing whatever vegetable is plentiful or available. Ground Cayenne & Fresh Black Pepper are used often.

The aromatic vegetables bell pepper (poivron), onion, and celery are called by some chefs the holy trinity of Creole and Cajun cuisines. Roughly diced and combined in cooking, the method is similar to the use of the mire poix in traditional French cuisine - which blends roughly diced onion, celery, and carrot. Characteristic aromatics for the Cajun version may also include parsley, bay leaf, green onions, and dried cayenne pepper.
